This week is coming to an end, and I am thinking about one particular aspect of life today: Focus.
Am I focused enough? What does that even mean?
You know, focus is a very interesting and powerful force. Consider the fact that you can start a fire by using a magnifying glass and normal sunlight. What does that tell us about focus? The mere act of concentrating the radiation through a small glass empowers you to spark a big fire that can take over an entire forest. The sunlight by itself cannot necessarily do that – it depends on the intensity of its temperature which is being concentrated, therefore increased, through the glass.
From that experiment, we can learn that whatever you focus on increases, and whatever you neglect surely dies, literally or figuratively. This is why purpose is so important – knowing why you do what you do, in order to mobilise your energy to spark the right fire to achieve your goal. And yes, it may be difficult to always focus. Oftentimes, there are just many distractions! Oh yes, been there, done that, wasted a huge amount of time! But know that you will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at dogs that bark (Winston Churchill). Challenge yourself to stay focused.
Keep in mind: Your focus determines your reality.
