Life is so full of untapped potential, sleeping giants and unlived dreams. Many people live mediocre lives and are happy with it though they have so much more treasure in them. I just wonder if we would continue living that way if we knew what else there is in life for us to discover and uncover. What I often hear though is, “what you don’t know won’t hurt you”. However, who says what you know hurts you? Knowledge is the key for understanding, progress and light – without it, we would all live in darkness, quite literally.
No one on earth knows everything there is to know. That’s ok. What’s not ok is staying without knowledge – staying ignorant. Your lifetime is not enough to know everything you need to know, and this applies to your relationships too. For instance, you decide to be with someone you commit to study for the rest of your life – because that is how long it takes.
Especially because people change and evolve over time, knowledge is progressive and as such, must be a lifetime pursuit. Only this is the way we can enrich the world our unique inner gifts – when we know them. If even Socrates said he knows that he knows nothing, does that not confirm the need for knowledge – of ourselves, our world and others around us? Admit that you don’t know all you need to know yet and give yourself the opportunity to learn more of your destiny, more of your potential, your gifts, yourself, more of the world, more of others – add some good to humanity in so doing.
Keep in mind: The more you know, the more you know you know nothing.
Commit to lifelong learning, and make sure to leave this earth emptied, when the time comes.
